I'm Petr and I used to be a dog Person
I know… shocking. But then I met Maine Coons. One look at those lynx-tipped ears, one cuddle with that gentle, dog-like temperament — and boom, I was converted for life.
In abraCATabra breeding program, I primarily focus on size and temperament. I admire European Maine Coons — famous for their wild, untamed look: strong square muzzles, tall tufted ears, and tails so bushy they deserve their own postcode.
Thanks to a wonderful network of breeder friends across Europe, I was able to bring some of the best bloodlines to New Zealand (from France, Germany, Belgium, and my native Czech Republic) — enriching the gene pool here and spreading the Maine Coon magic.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Hi—I’m Jules. My love for animals started at 8 years of age with my quirky moggy, Mr. Charlie Brown—who one day surprised me by giving birth in my sock drawer. (Turns out Charlie was actually Mrs Brown!) That moment sparked a lifelong passion for animal care and breeding.
Over the years I raised cats, dogs, and even parrots. Then, I discovered Maine Coons—and it was love at first sight. I am particularly obsessed with polydactyls and find them utterly fascinating!
For me, managing health is paramount, and our breedling lines have been DNA tested for hereditary conditions prevalent in the breed.

WHAT'S NEXT
Recently, our mission has expanded: to discover hi-tech cat products across Asia-Pacific, test them on our coon menagerie, and bring the very best finds home to New Zealand.
ABOUT MAINE COONS
Maine Coons are basically the SUVs of the cat kingdom—big, sturdy and reliable. Boys often weigh around 9-10 kg, yet our largest stud boy is 15.5 kg!), while the girls keep it classy and a bit lighter.
Despite their lion-like manes and bushy tails that look like feather dusters on steroids, they’re not divas. In fact, they’re affectionate softies who will happily follow you around like a slightly oversized shadow. Don’t expect dramatic meows—these cats prefer chirps and trills.
Their coats were built for winter adventures, but weekly brushing is usually all they need to keep that glorious mane in check.
Personality-wise, Maine Coons are like the perfect flatmate: playful but not destructive, affectionate but not clingy, and cool with kids, dogs, or anyone else you invite into their kingdom.
Maine Coons are highly intelligent and can be trained to walk on a leash, play fetch and perform tricks. They are very versatile, abraCATabra progeny florishes in city apartments, on lifestyle blocks or yachts alike (belive it or not, some of them like to swim!)
In short? Maine Coons are giant, goofy, elegant, loyal, and just a little bit ridiculous. And that’s exactly why we love them.
OUR FACILITIES
We’re based in Puhoi, just a 40-minute drive north of Auckland CBD, and we’re always happy for you to meet our cats (by prior arrangement only). We’ve built a purpose-designed cattery right next to our home, giving our Maine Coons the best view of the valley — probably better than ours, if we’re honest.
Our cats live in comfort, safety, and style. And just so we’re clear: entire cats are not allowed to roam outside unsupervised. After all, you want to buy a purebred Maine Coon, not the result of a late-night rendezvous with the local stray.
Weaned kittens are socialised in our home and exposed to kids and our two dogs (griffons Benjamin Button and Mr. Josh).
